Flamingos are the official bird of St. Augustine, Florida. Their famous pink color comes from their diet, which is rich in carotenoid pigments found in shrimp, algae, and crustaceans. Without it, they’d be a pale grayish-white! They are often confused with Roseate Spoonbills.
