About the Artist

Renee White is an artist living in St. Augustine, FL. Self-taught, she captures the beauty of her native Florida in watercolor and colored pencil. You can find her work on display in various art shows around the Sunshine State.

Renee was born in France to parents in the Army. She grew up in Lakeland, FL, with one older sister. It’s no surprise that animals are a frequent subject of her work. Growing up she had pets that ranged from a parrot, a Jackson’s chameleon, a horse named Misty, to a dachshund named Johann. Her most recent canine companions are a Jack Russell Terrier named J.R., and shelter pups, a brother and sister duo named Cissy and Luke.

Renee has two sons, Andy, who died in a motorcycle accident, and Jack, of St. Augustine. When the family discovered Jack was deaf, they moved from Lakeland to St. Augustine for him to attend the Florida School for the Deaf and Blind.

Before her time as a artist, Renee worked framing paintings, as a security guard, and driving trucks – from 18-wheelers to school buses. She worked for Brink’s as a driver and guard until a vehicle accident left her disabled. She turned to art fulltime, traveling to shows around Florida.
